Privacy Policy

Short version: this site sets no cookies, runs no analytics, uses no trackers, and collects no personal data through forms. The only data processing happens in the hosting provider's server logs and — only if you actively choose to load one — in embedded route maps.

Hosting and server logs

This website is hosted by easyname GmbH, Fernkorngasse 10/3/501, 1100 Vienna, Austria — an Austrian provider; data stays in the EU. Like virtually every web server, easyname automatically processes technical access data when you visit this site: IP address, date and time of the request, requested URL, browser user agent, and referrer.

This happens on the legal basis of our legitimate interest (Art 6(1)(f) GDPR) in operating the website securely and diagnosing technical problems. Log data is retained and deleted according to easyname's standard retention periods. We do not merge it with other data or use it to identify visitors.

Embedded route maps (Komoot) — only after your click

Ride pages can display a route map from komoot GmbH, Friedrich-Ebert-Straße 28, 14469 Potsdam, Germany.

No connection to Komoot is made when you open the page. You see a placeholder. Only when you click "Load route map" does your browser load the map from komoot.com — at that moment your IP address and browser data are transmitted to Komoot. The legal basis is your consent (Art 6(1)(a) GDPR), given by clicking; you can find Komoot's own privacy policy at komoot.com/privacy.

If you tick "always load Komoot maps", this preference is stored in your browser's localStorage as a simple flag. It contains no personal data, is never transmitted to us or anyone else, and you can remove it anytime by clearing your browser's site data.

No cookies, no analytics

This site sets no cookies and uses no analytics, advertising, or tracking services of any kind.

Links to external services

We link to our Strava club, Komoot profile, Instagram account, and a Signal group. Clicking those links takes you to the respective service, where that provider's privacy policy applies. No data flows to those services from merely visiting this site.

Email contact

If you email us, we process your email address and message content to answer you (Art 6(1)(b) or (f) GDPR). Emails are deleted when the conversation is no longer needed.

Your rights

You have the right to access, rectification, erasure, restriction of processing, data portability, and objection regarding your personal data (Art 15–21 GDPR). Since we store essentially no personal data, there is usually nothing to retrieve — but you can always ask.

You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the Austrian Data Protection Authority: Österreichische Datenschutzbehörde, Barichgasse 40–42, 1030 Vienna, dsb.gv.at.
